5 Interesting Facts About Homeopathy

5 Interesting Facts About Homeopathy

Homeopathy has endless facts, but to help you better understand the wonders and benefits of homeopathic remedies and supplements, we researched and gathered 5 of the most interesting facts.

Fact 1: Unlike most pharmaceutical medicines, homeopathic remedies have no toxic side effects and are non-addictive. Because all remedies and medicines are natural, the combinations and mixes do not hijack your brain's reward system. Homeopathic supplements and medicines do not play into withdrawal severity or intense dopamine surges.

Fact 2: Homeopathy had its own hospitals and medical schools in America. During the 19th and early 20th centuries, dedicated homeopathic hospitals, pharmacies, and medical colleges operated throughout the United States and still operate today.

Fact 3: Homeopathy traditionally emphasizes individualized remedy selection. Historically, homeopathic practitioners have considered a person's particular pattern of reported symptoms, not simply the name of a condition, when selecting a remedy. Two people describing the same general complaint might therefore receive different homeopathic preparations.

Fact 4: Homeopathic preparations use a distinctive dilution system. Labels such as 6X, 30X, 6C, and 30C describe the dilution scale and number of preparation steps. "X" traditionally represents a 1:10 dilution at each step, while "C" represents a 1:100 dilution at each step.

Fact 5: The first national medical organization in the U.S. was homeopathic. The American Institute of Homeopathy was founded in 1844, three years before the American Medical Association was established in 1847.
